A new mobile phone application, offered on iTunes, was created by Goodwin College’s learning technologies group, under the direction of Cory Schmitt and Dr. Fredricka Reisman, professor, multidisciplinary and emerging programs, and interim associate dean of research. The Reisman Diagnostic Creativity Assessment (RDCA) assesses an individual’s self-perception on 11 major creativity factors. The new application is built upon the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT), the most widely used test of creativity, however the TTCT must be scored by trained evaluators and takes an hour or longer while the RDCA is automatically scored, takes about 10 minutes to complete and provides immediate results.

The free RDCA app provides a Likert-type assessment resulting in a self-report designed to be used diagnostically to identify one’s creative strengths, rather than to predict creativity. The RDCA results can be used to provide the assessment taker with an instant creativity score as well as scores to identify specific creativity factors in which the taker may already be strong, factors they may be personally satisfied with, and those they wish to strengthen through creativity exercises.

You may access the free RDCA app via your iPhone by clicking on the icon in the Apple Store apps.
You will receive your score and may email the results to yourself.  Thus, you can retake the RDCA whenever you wish.
